Volunteer with us

The Kerry Gleeson Centre is built on community — people supporting people, through lived experience, connection, and care. Our volunteers are a vital part of what we do. They help create safe, welcoming spaces where others feel seen, heard, and not alone.

Who can volunteer

We welcome people who:

  • Have lived experience and feel ready to support others
  • Value connection, compassion, and non-judgement
  • Want to give back to the community in a meaningful way
  • Understand the importance of boundaries, safety, and shared humanity

You don’t need to have everything “figured out” — just a genuine intention to walk alongside others with care and respect.

  • Training and guidance in trauma-informed and safe practice
  • Ongoing connection and debrief support
  • A sense of purpose and meaningful contribution

A safe and supported approach

We are committed to ensuring our volunteers feel supported, not overwhelmed. All roles are guided, with clear boundaries and a focus on shared responsibility. You will never be expected to hold more than feels safe or appropriate.

Be part of something that matters

Volunteering with The Kerry Gleeson Centre is not about “fixing” others — it’s about empowering, connection, presence, and offering hope through shared experiences.

If you feel called to be part of this work, we would love to hear from you. Reach out to us or register your interest to start the conversation.

Together we create a space where no one has to feel alone.
