You’re not alone.
The Kerry Gleeson Centre is a place for support, connection, and hope — for anyone going through a difficult time. A lived-experience, community-led space where people feel heard, seen, and supported without judgement.
What this is
The Kerry Gleeson Centre is a community-led space for people who are struggling with suicide distress, DV, grief, trauma, or simply feeling lost or alone. It’s a place to land when you don’t know where else to go, and where you’ll be met with connection, mutual understanding, and authentic support. There is no pressure, judgement, or hoops to jump through.
You don’t need a diagnosis, a referral, or a specific “reason” to connect with us. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or too much to carry on your own, you’re welcome here for a cuppa and connection.
And if you’re unsure what you need or how to navigate the right supports, we can help you find your way — or if you need someone to walk alongside you to advocate.
We are a not-for-profit, peer-led organisation. Everything we offer is free, made possible by community support and the people who stand with us.
As well as connecting with a peer, we offer counselling, advocacy, and grounding modalities like breathwork, somatic practices, Reiki, holistic modalities, and sound.
Founded by Kerry Gleeson
Kerry is a Holistic Counsellor, BA (Hons), Reiki Master Teacher, Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator, and is accredited in Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, with a STAR’S licence. She has fifteen years supporting people through crisis, trauma, suicide distress, DV, homelessness, and grief on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Her work is shaped by her own lived experience. She knows what it’s like to feel lost, not seen, and misunderstood. She understands the power of hope when connecting with another that truly understands.
Kerry blends professional training with lived experience, integrating counselling, somatic tools, breathwork, Reiki, grounding practices, and advocacy. Her belief is simple: healing is possible, when you connect with the right person at the right time.
Alongside the Centre, Kerry also runs The Advocate, her private counselling and advocacy practice offering one-on-one support for people navigating trauma, suicide distress, domestic and family violence, system barriers, and complex life transitions. Learn more at theadvocatekerry.org.
“Many people who’ve felt unseen or unable to connect elsewhere find they can with Kerry, because she meets them with real depth, lived experience, authenticity, kindness, and a compassion with a presence that feels safe and real.”
What’s coming
We are building a range of free, community-led programs for the Northern Beaches. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead.
Peer-led drop-ins
Regular community drop-ins in local council venues. A place to land when things feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. No appointments, no criteria, no judgement — just connection and support from people who get it.
Grief support workshops
Gentle, safe, facilitated spaces for people navigating loss. Just come as you are and be met with mutual understanding, connection, compassion, and care.
Community connection events
Open gatherings for anyone who needs a cuppa and connection. Shared food, warmth, and a space to talk, sit quietly, or simply be around others without pressure.
Wellbeing and grounding sessions
Small, accessible groups offering breathwork, somatic practices, Reiki, sound, and other gentle modalities to help you regulate, reconnect, and feel safe.
Stay connected
We’d love to keep you in the loop as the Centre takes shape. Follow along, come to an event, or just say hello.
